Yes. RaiblocksOne is a fork of Nano, and inherits its block lattice and open representative voting. The current node is built on Nano 28.0.0.

The name is a tribute to Nano's former name, RaiBlocks. The appendix “One” distinguishes it from Nano's founding name. A possible renaming will be discussed with the community.

The ticker changed from XRB to XRO on 19 November 2023, to avoid confusion with Nano's old ticker.

As in Nano: feeless, instant and energy efficient. Every account has its own chain, so senders are not competing for room in a shared block. Once representatives holding more than 67% of online voting weight agree, a transaction is cemented and irreversible — a matter of seconds, not confirmations you wait out.

A total of 340,282,366.9 XRO was created — (2¹²⁸ − 1) / 10³⁰, the same fixed supply construction Nano uses. Rather than a sale or a mine, distribution was based on a snapshot of the Nano ledger taken on 24 May 2023.

Every Nano account with a balance or receivable amount greater than one Nano received the same amount in XRO. Accounts identifiable as exchanges were excluded, since they could not be attributed to individual users, as was the account used to burn Nano. That produced a distribution of 87,918,160.34 XRO.

Of the 340,282,366.9 XRO created, 252,364,206.58 XRO remains to be distributed over 30 years as a daily reward to principal representatives. That works out to a maximum of 23,046.95 XRO per day, allocated by each principal representative's share of online voting weight. Rounding may cause slight variation.

The point is to fund ongoing development and reward people who actually contribute. Because you pick your representative freely and can change it at any time, you can direct weight toward whoever is building what you want to see.

Yes, and it is the most useful thing you can do for the network. It is one command and about 45 minutes, with nothing to download — a fresh node now syncs the entire chain from scratch on its own. No prior experience needed.

Use the 2.0.0-R2 image. Any guide telling you to run yxse/nan, raiblocksone/raione:R1_V.02.2 or even plain 2.0.0 is out of date — those cannot find XRO peers or cannot finish syncing. A ledger snapshot is still published if you would rather be up in five minutes, but it is now optional. Full instructions are here.

It was not something you did wrong. XRO's chain was built with proof-of-work below what Nano's thresholds expect — 68% of blocks fell below epoch_1 and 77% below epoch_2. Nodes that already held the blocks never noticed, because Nano does not re-check what it has already stored. But any node re-fetching history rejected them as insufficient_work.

There were three bugs, not one. Besides the work thresholds, the peering setting was never actually read — so new nodes fell back to Nano's mainnet seed and found no XRO peers at all — and bootstrap deadlocked on its own dependencies at around 156,000 blocks. All three are fixed as of 2.0.0-R2, and a fresh node now reaches the full chain unattended. Details.

New wallets now default to a different representative, with two others available in the list. Existing wallets are unchanged — if you already have an account, your representative is whatever you last set it to.

This is disclosed deliberately, because changing a default moves delegated voting weight over time and you should know when that happens. You can set your representative to anyone you like, at any time, in the wallet's settings.

No. Your seed, your addresses and your balances are untouched. The node update changed how nodes validate history they are re-fetching; it does not alter account state. The wallet update was a rebuild of the frontend, which had been running a June 2024 build with broken deep links.

The faucet hands out small amounts for free so you can try the network. Beyond that, XRO can be received from anyone who already holds it.

Nanswap lists XRO, so you can swap Nano or another coin for it directly. Wider exchange listings are still on the roadmap.

RaiOne‑Vault is a client-side wallet derived from Nault. Your seed is generated and held in your browser and is never transmitted to a server. Proof of work is computed in your browser too.

As with any wallet: back up your seed, keep it offline, and be certain of the address in your browser bar before entering it.
